SMART Goal Setting Method

S = Specific

Specifics help us focus our efforts and clearly define our task.
Ensure the goal you set is very specific, clear and easy.

M = Measurable

If you cannot measure it, you cannot manage it.
Establish criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of goals.

A = Attainable

A goal needs to stretch you only slightly so you feel you can do it but requires a real commitment from you.

R = Realistic

This is not a synonym for “easy.” Realistic, in this case, means “do-able.”
Devise a plan or a way of getting there which makes the goal realistic.

T = Timely

Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.
Time, like our goals, must be measurable, attainable and realistic.
